The Aerosol Guard is an Aerosol Management System that combines powerful extraoral suction and a transparent protection screen using a self-locking adjustable arm. The screen provides you the visibility to perform complex procedures. The flexible arm is easily adjustable to accommodate different working positions, and allows complete access to the patient.
Our studies have shown that using The Aerosol Guard during aerosol generating procedures will allow Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Providers to prevent the spread of harmful Aerosol and Splatter. The powerful extraoral suction combined with an advanced air sanitization system has proven to be 99.9% effective in capturing, containing, and removing airborne aerosol before it spreads to the operating area. Aerosol is sanitized through our advanced 3-Stage Air Sanitization System, ensuring that only clean air is released back into the operatory:
The Aerosol Guard protects Healthcare Professionals from harmful Aerosol and Splatter.
Using this Screen and Air Sanitization combination, The Aerosol Guard is able to effectively prevent aerosol from escaping to the treatment room while performing aerosol generating medical procedures (AGMPs). Moisture and air are removed from aerosol through tornado centrifugal separation. This process effectively protects the HEPA filter from blockage due to moisture, extending its useful life.
The aerosol that is captured is then filtered through our 3-Stage Air Sanitization System, ensuring that only clean air is released back to the treatment area.
The Aerosol Guard is a self-cleansing unit equipped with an Ozone Sterilization System. Sterilize the entire machine, including the swing arm, joints, main unit, and HEPA filter using the enclosed ozone generator. Other products on the market only offer “Plasma and UV” sterilization, which may not reach all parts of the device.
Medical Procedures Considered to be AGMPs
1. Endotracheal intubation and extubation, manual bag mask ventilation 2. Bronchoscopy and bronchoalveolar lavage 3. Tracheostomy procedure (open or percutaneous) 4. Laryngoscopy 5. Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (BiPAP and CPAP) 6. High flow nasal cannula oxygenation (e.g. Optiflow) - should only be used in patients with COVID-19 following consultation with an Attending Intensivist * Note: Oxygen delivered via nasal prongs and/or non-rebreathe masks are not considered AGMP, regardless of flow rate 7. Some dental procedures (e.g., high speed drilling, ultrasonic scalers etc.) 8. Autopsy of lung tissue 9. Sputum induction using hypertonic saline 10. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (with manipulation of the airway) *Note: Chest compressions are not considered AGMP 11. Open deep suctioning via endotracheal tube/tracheostomy tube 12. Administration of nebulizing medications, does not include administration of a metered dose inhaler (MDI)
